Got an old game you remember playing as a kid and wouldn’t mind revisiting? Chances are, GOG.com has that game available to purchase for a few dollars and it will run on your modern operating system. But this weekend there’s an extra incentive to go buy it from GOG.
To continue celebrating the digital download service’s 5th birthday, GOG has decided to offer a copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition absolutely free with any game purchase.
Typically The Witcher costs $9.99, with many games costing just $5.99 on the service making this a real bargain. And as it’s the enhanced version of the game you are getting over 200 new animations, new character models, much better dialogue, a redesigned inventory system, and level load times about 80 percent down from the original. GOG also bundles the game with its manual, art book, 18 wallpapers, a game guide, two maps, the soundtrack, developer interviews, 26 avatars for you to use, and even a calendar.
The deal gets even better when you consider GOG is also running another promotion this weekend offering 60 percent off the price of 30 EA titles. That includes the Wing Commander, Ultima, andPopulous series, as well as Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, andSimCity 2000. Buy any of those at their discounted price and you still get The Witcher for free.
The free copy of The Witcher will be offered on purchases until Thursday, October 17 at 9:59am GMT, which is 4:59am EST. If you want to combine it with the EA games offer, you’ve got until Monday to decide which ones you want.
